FarmVille Links & Tips
Fall back non-believers. It happened. What they say could not be done, is now done.
At approximately 9:30 AM today, I time traveled using the jalopy I just placed on my Sakura farm yesterday and did in fact receive the illusive Queen Victoria's Dog. Please clap for me.

Zen Vehicles, What?
I just started playing Zen this morning and have been mildly paying attention to chatter about needing different vehicles for different parts of the Sakura Farm. So, this is what I know thus far: Yes, you need to buy these 3 additional vehicles in order to farm in Zen Valley, (using regular coins, not Farm ca$h), which brings you up to a fleet of 3 sets of vehicles for this farm: 1 set for land, 1 set for water and now this additional set for Zen Valley. I earned water my vehicles by completing quests in the Relic Room, otherwise you have to use Farm Ca$h for those if you want them. Does a combine or combine chassis work in Zen? I do not know because I have not gotten that far yet. What Happens in Zen, Stays in Zen It's worth mentioning that only certain decorative items, trees and animals can be placed on the Zen Valley. It appears that items that can go there have a round halo on the bottom of them which solved a mystery for me about some trees I had in my gift box that I could not put anywhere on any farm, land or water. Storing Zen Vehicles This presented a bit of a logistical problem because I had to keep going hither and yon to look in the garage, choose a vehicle and then use it. Pfft with all that! So I did some quick re-construction and moved my garage to the plots of land just below Zen in front of the Judo Dojo to be closer. First, I put them all in the garage until I upgraded them slightly with parts, then I took the tractor out and put it right up on the Zen farm because I am currently planting and harvesting short timed crops. When my vehicles are fully upgraded, I will most likely put them all up on the Zen Valley for ease of access. Pictures of my set up below: You don't speak French? So why is your Facebook all in French or some other language? Fret not mon frer, see below for the easy fix.
Wow, not being able to post yesterday (again) had me thinking about everyone who was trying to help everyone who couldn't post. I'm not an expert at computers or FarmVille tech support, but I thought I'd share how I farm and what I use because I love learning and I love sharing knowledge.
My Computer: A Dell, few years old, under warranty, heavily used for business and personal purposes. My Browsers: Opera I use this if I am just farming (harvesting, planting, moving things around) and NOT posting links to the chat. This browser is fast and doesn't crash all that often. My guess is because I only use this browser for FarmVille, it works well for me. Chrome I use for farming and posting links to the chat. Doesn't work as smoothly as Opera, but very close. I also use this for other home and business tasks. Mozilla Firefox My primary browser for home and business use. I use this for farming and posting in chat depending on the performance of FarmVille with the other browsers or what other work I am doing at the time. Sometimes I have 2 or 3 browsers in use at the same time. I will farm with Opera and use Chrome to post links from my Facebook page and Firefox Mozilla for work. My Virus & Cleaning Software: - Norton Security Suite (full paid version) - C Cleaner (full paid version) What I Don't Use: Any Other Ad or Pop Up Blocking Software Whatever settings I have on the browsers, Norton and C Cleaner work for me. I need pop-ups for other software I run and I have not had a problem. Torch (Overlay for Chrome) I installed this after I saw someone mention in the chat it was great! It was great! for about 10 minutes, then I realized all the crap it installed on Chrome and how it hijacked it. I should have known better to research it BEFORE installing, and so should you for any software, especially if it it's 'free'. Caveat emptor, you get what you pay for. What I Do On A Regular Basis: 1. Update Java 2. Update Flash 3. Clear cache, cookies, history 4. Check Facebook settings 5. Read help sections on Zynga, Dirt Farmer 6. Read advice from the very helpful farmers in chat :) Your mileage will vary. Here is a place you can find easy posting tips for FarmVille chat with screen shots and step by step instructions as I happen upon them. Scroll down for other blog entries on how to do stuff in the chat.
Thanks everyone for teaching me your tricks! Lisa :) P.S. I'm a copy paste-r when I am clicking links to post an acknowledgement because I'm usually working & it makes it easier for me to let people know I've helped them with their post. Yee-haw! This useful info is credited to Debbie KY who I did 'clopy' word for word ;)Copy your link to the clipboard from the in game pop up post. After you copy it and paste it in chat, you cancel your post. That is how we can share so many stamp posts one after the other if you do not wait for people to click and close it... everyone will get the message that it's done. STEP 1 Choose the stamp you want to post, click ask. Leave the post like this up on you your screen. Don't Click Share. STEP 2 Right click on the post that you have left open on your screen to bring up the URL shortener sub-menu, mouse down to it and the copy to clipboard option pops out. STEP 3 Click Copy to clipboard as shown to copy the shortened URL link to your clipboard. After you copy it, paste it in chat, then you wait for someone to click your link and acknowledge, then you CANCEL the post that is still open on your screen. Meaning don't click the 'share' button, click the cancel next to it. This post will NOT appear on your wall. Then you can do it again with another stamp without having to wait 6 hours. Vote Thing-y - Instructions Credited to Carolyn C =)It is very easy. Instead of copying link or using goo.gl url shortener... you choose Open link in new window (tab) Go to that page and vote the way you want others to. When it loads you copy the url in the address bar and shorten it or just post it here. Everyone then only votes for that side. STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS WITH SCREEN SHOTS Open the structure that needs votes after you have placed it on your farm STEP 1 Click the ASK FOR VOTES button to post STEP 2 Find the post on your wall STEP 3 Right click on your post and open it in a new tab, then click on whichever one you want people to pick for you. I picked Prince Florian. STEP 4 Normally if you click on your own post you get an error, but in this case you will not. The page now looks like this: STEP 5 Now, just copy the link from this page and post it. Shorten it if you can, if not, just post it. Shortening the link from here requires pasting it into Goo.gl URL shortener. STEP 6 Paste the long link you just copied into Goo.gl URL shortener, convert the link, then paste it into the chat STEP 6.1 This is what it will look like after you convert it (shorten it) Copy the new shortened link from the right side and post in the chat. STEP 7
Now after the required number of votes, you can go back to your structure, redeem the pre-set prize, and post one to share from your wall! |
